One of our cousins sent some cards and drawings that Joe Papin had given to his brother Don. One was a little sketch that was done on a piece of paper from a United States Senate Memo pad. It looks like it already had a bit of writing or a little doodle on it before my father used it to draw on (visible on Ted Kennedy’s jaw). It reads:
“United States Senate Memorandum”
“Drawn for State of the Union coverage, Washington D.C. January 4th, 1965.”
“Bobby. The new Senator after taking his seat in Senate, January 4, 1965.”
And more faintly visible on the insert sketch of Bobby Kennedy’s hands, “The answer is on the way.”

Joe Papin illustrated “Washington, D.C.” – a book that was published in 1966 by Seabury Press by James Playsted Wood that has a drawing of Bobby and Ted Kennedy in the center of the page below. Bobby Kennedy was a Senator from New York; Ted Kennedy was a Senator from Massachusetts:
