Drawings illustrating a four-day series of articles, “How Family Court Fails.” The articles were written by Michael Pousner and illustrated by Joseph Papin. The articles ran in the Daily News on the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th of July, 1972.
From the article on the first day: “Each year more than 100,000 young people come before Family Court. They require comfort, assistance, counsel, shelter, or chastisement. Too often—and for a number of reasons—all they get is an unintentional brush-off. To one judge, the court is just ‘a training ground for the criminal courts.’”
